Now ever since the world began
Man has wanted to contact man,
Therefore one day many years ago
(When the earth was covered with a blanket of snow),
The people decided to give a great cheer
That all the planets around could hear,
T'was arranged that millions should shout 'hello'
In a common language all would know,
And listen for a swift reply
To come from a planet in the pale blue sky.
The day arrived and all were ready
For the starters' orders to come 'now' said he
'GO'!!
But just one lone voice rang out
From the millions of people all about,
T'was as clear as the frost that around did glisten
The whole wide world had stopped to listen.
