For our children and those we love:
Give them, O Lord, ever watchful hearts
that no seductive spirit may ever lure from Thee:
hearts of honesty that no insincerity shall warp;
hearts of courage that no distress or fear shall crush or quench;
hearts of tenderness that no betrayal or cruelty shall harden;
hearts so full and free that nothing mean or selfish shall constrain them;
hearts so big with love that they will forgive even us when we fail them.
