In jumping and tumbling
We spend the whole day,
Till night by arriving
Has finished our play.
What then! One and all,
There's no more to be said,
As we tumbled all day,
So we tumble to bed.

Cocks crow in the morn
To tell us to rise,
And he who lies late
Will never be wise;
For early to bed
And early to rise
Makes a man healthy
And wealthy and wise.

Come let's to bed, says Sleepy-head;
Tarry awhile, says Slow;
Put on the pan, says Greedy Nan,
Let's sup before we go.
