Sitting on a children's ride Watching the world go by; People of every shape and size Doing their shopping with a sigh. People in love and people alone, Young and old, black and white, Walking past deep in thought, Mixing together as is their right. From my vantage point I see All kinds of things that others miss; A smacked hand for a naughty child Or a tender smile with a lover's kiss. People seem so full of haste Trapped by the lives they lead; Exercise and food do the body fine But their minds they never feed. I'm sure there is a better way To make the whole world care; One day, maybe I'll know, But for now I'll just sit and stare.
