The car's arrived it's time to go
Hope the kids don't get on my wick;
It's hot and stuffy, not even a breeze
Hope the kids don't get car-sick.
Two hours later we're finally there
Hope the kids keep out of my way;
Now come the problems with the tent
Hope the kids go off and play.
Sooner than expected we're settled in
Hope the kids will sleep on the ground;
All of us laying in one straight row
Hope the kids don't toss around.
Down to the sea-front and amusement arcades
Hope the kids have brought their own money;
With miles and miles of sandy beach
Hope for the kids the weather stays sunny.
Shorts and swimsuits are the order of the day
Hope we all get nice and brown;
Some huge great waves for surfing on
Hope the kids don't fall over and drown.
Back to the camp for something to eat
Hope the cooker doesn't blow up on me;
The first meals cooked look really nice
Hope the same happens with our tea.
Time to change, where's my shoes
Hope I didn't forget them in the rush;
Down to the club where bingo they play
Hope the kids will keep very hush.
Tomorrow I promised we'd go horse riding
Hope that none of us fall off;
Back in bed we're all nearly asleep
Hope I don't suddenly have to cough.
